It´s a very sad day for music. Legendary singer Whitney Houston has died at age 48.
According to Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen the singer´s body was found inside a bathtub and was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. in her room on the fourth floor of the Beverly Hilton.
The police stated that there were "no obvious signs of foul play and no obvious signs of a cause of death".
Police said in a statement:
"They initiated CPR, but were unable to revive her. At approximately 3:55 p.m. Whitney Houston, age 48 was pronounced dead at the scene.Whitney Houston was positively identified at the scene by members of her entourage which included friends, co-workers and family. Ms. Houston's daughter and mother were notified of her death."
Two days before the singer was seen at a party for the Grammy Awards event at Tru Hollywood Nightclub in Hollywood, and appeared to be in bad shape (see picture below).

Houston was expected to perform at a Gala for Clive Davis on Saturday, the same day she died. The Gala took place as scheduled and Davis dedicated the evening to her asking for a moment of silence as a photo of the singer appeared on the screen.
Whitney´s ex-husband Bobby Brown broke down during a performance where he remembered the woman he was married to for 14 years saying: "I would like to say, 'I love you Whitney.' The hardest thing for me to do is come on this stage."
Celebrities all over the world are still reacting to the premature loss of Whitney Houston.
Aretha Franklin said in a statement: "I just can't talk about it now. It's so stunning and unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I was reading coming across the TV screen."
